Hunbat Men Biography

Hunbatz Men is a Mayan elder who lives in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. He is a Shaman, Daykeeper and teacher of traditional Mayan wisdom passed down to him through generations of Mayan elders. He has committed his life to transmitting these sacred teachings to others who have an interest in the vision and practices of ancient indigenous cultures. He believes that modern peoples can benefit from understanding the world view that the teachings of the Mayas express. This path of sacred sacred wisdom teachings is offered through Maya Mystery Schools, and draws students back into the higher consciousness of the universe, back into Cosmic Consciousness, which they have forgotten.  His books include Secrets of Mayan Science/Religion (Bear & Co, Santa Fe, NM 1990) and The 8 Calendars of the Maya: The Pleiadian Cycle and the Key to Destiny (Bear & Co, to be published early 2010).

Maestro Hunbatz Men always greets new and returning students the same way, saying “I am happy to see you again.” He calls them Solar Brothers and Sisters, recognizing that they were Mayans in past lives and are returning to reclaim their lost wisdom, their cosmic knowledge teachings from the past. He recognizes that we are all part of the greater whole and are essentially one. An ancient Mayan salutation expresses this perfectly: "In Lak'ech, Ah Lak’en.” I am you and you are me; or I am another yourself.

The ultimate purpose of Hunbatz Men’s work is to restore our planet to harmony with natural and cosmologic cycles. He believes that the way to help Mother Earth and her children return to a state of harmony is to raise human consciousness once again closer to the Cosmic Consciousness of advanced ancient peoples.

In 2008 Hunbatz Men founded and is Director of the Cosmic Initiatic University of Yok’hah Maya in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico.  This program offers study in depth of the mystic knowledge and hidden practices of Maya yoga, including philosophy and practices.  Education in yok’hah (yoga) provides a foundation in cosmic philosophy and practice of techniques based in ancient Maya knowledge and traditions, guiding us to live in harmony with the cycles of our Mother Earth, Father Sun, and the Cosmos.

Hunbatz Men, Elder, Shaman and Daykeeper in the Itza Maya tradition, teaches and leads ceremonies in ancient Maya wisdom and cosmovision.  His international following includes Maya Mystery Schools in the United States, England, Japan, Germany and South Africa. He founded the Maya Ceremonial, Cultural & Educational Center at Lol Be with ceremonial areas, gardens, residential area, and community center for studies and classes.

For those seeking a deeper experience of the Maya, Hunbatz Men conducts spiritually focused tours in the sacred lands of the Maya through Yantours, SA de CV in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico.

Alberto Hagar Gonzales Biography

Alberto Hagar Gonzales is a scientist and archeoastronomic investigator from Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. He is a graduate of Colegio Montejo and Technical Studies Sup. Maquinas Herriamientas ITRM in Merida. With a background in technical and scientific investigation for law enforcement and intelligence, he has dedicated more than 20 years to independent investigation of the archeoastronomy and spiritual character of ancient peoples. He has written extensively about these subjects.

As a resident of Yucatan, much of his study focuses on the Maya. Hagar achieved many discoveries and developed unique theories about the Maya world. Among these are:

Finding the exact astro-science used for construction of Maya structures, decoding the numeric-geometric score in the designs of Maya construction, discovering the two rulers of the nine standards of geodesic measure employed by the Mayas in construction, inventing the staff/rod of Pakal and of Itzamna as tools of Maya measurement, demonstrating the necessity of the vigesimal system in Maya script and design, linking geometry of construction with the script of the codices, developing a method to obtain a musical score of Maya structures, and describing the significance of the 20 glyphs of the Tzolk’in calendar from a genetic perspective.

Alberto Hagar has participated in over 80 conferences before international audiences in 24 countries. He was an official envoy for Mexico to the U.S. and Canada to promote Chichen Itza as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. His presentations were featured at many universities in Mexico and the U.S., at NASA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA. He participated in the design concepts of the Hotel Grand Sirenis on the Maya Riviera, awarded the “Work of the Year” in 2008. Collaborating with American geneticists, he demonstrated that the Mayas knew the 20 alpha-amino acids (20 Tzolk’in glyphs) and used these to stimulate health and create life.

Among his publications are: Los Codigos Sagrados de Hunaab’Ku, Las Claves de Sanacion de los Antiguos Mayas, Los Veinte Amino-Glifos Mayas, workbooks for conferences; Rosas de Castilla, 2012 Profecia de las Serpientes, El Sepulturero, novels; and diverse articles and courses in the U.S., Mexico, Europe and Japan. Two of his screenplays are being produced as movies, “The Sacred Geometry of the Divine Feminine” about his discoveries involving the cloak of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and “2012, The Prophecy of the Serpent” about the Maya legacy for the world in 2012.

Alberto Hagar, Scientist and Archeoastronomer, writes and teaches about the Maya calendar and 2012, astro-geometry and numeric codes of Maya pyramids that create musical scores and reflect cosmic geometric patterns, and the relation of glyphs to DNA that reactivates humans as cosmic beings.

Courses by Alberto Hagar are offered through the Cosmic Initiatic University of Yok’hah Maya.
